For my upcoming film, I will be exploring the urban legend that there is in fact, a ghost, living in one of the elevators of Augustine Hall. My first shot will be a very wide shot panning across the Saint Mary’s campus that fades to black. Music will be key to adding a spooky affect. B roll shots will be used in the next frame as voice in the background explains the origins of the urban legend. From there on, I will be using close up shots during interviews with some people who are informed about the legend including faculty and staff. The next third of the film will be a Blair-Witch style of shooting, where we have our subject spend the night in the elevator looking for evidence of the ghost. Overall, this is a really exiting project to be part of and I think, the different styles of camera work will really add to the entertainment value, no matter if we see a ghost or not.
A really good piece of journalism I found that kinda wanders into similar territory would when a journalist went to Romania to interview people about an insane asylum. I hope you find this as entertaining as I did. I have a link to the first clip out of three parts.
I really like your idea. I wanna know if there is really a ghost in agustine hall too! i can tell u for sure that there is a ghost in Ageno C. Its brother Gary lol i have stories. but this video is a good example for u to go by too cuz it has good caerma movement and the lighting and shadows are perfect for the ghost effect.
